April is here at long last. A few of Zoe's friends have been busy rehearsing a new dance routine in the Cobbles Theater. The dancers must act like statues and keep perfectly still till Zoe tells them to spring into life. Jack thought that he could have performed the part of standing still better than the others because he has had more experience of doing this.
The Saturday Book Club is proud to present the story of a bell. Rest assured this is not just any old bell, it is the bell which disappeared in a flash from Whitby.
Molly claims that she was inspired to create the Pier Dance by observing how people and animals move in everyday life. So ,what do you think?
Part of Zoe's new show will include a segment where the audience can get up and dance or sing along to the music. As Oh Crumbs Theater is close to the Pier Zoe thought that it would be fun to have our very own Pier Dance. Zoe enlisted the help of her friend Molly to perform the steps as she filmed it. A very simple dance and one which you can practice wherever you may be and whatever you may be doing. So, whilst out shopping, working, learning, cooking, cleaning or playing take time our and have a Pier Dance with us. Put your glad rags on, light up the disco ball and lets dance!
Being on the stage is not all glamour and stardust, especially when Zoe asks you to clean, polish then decorate it. I did manage to escape once or twice to stroll along the Cobbles. As I was deciding whether to visit the town or, I saw a film crew recording parts of a video for a new song. Naturally I informed them that I performed at Oh Crumbs Theater, they promised to let me see the finished music videos and here is the first one.
During the summer the guys have been out and about busking on the Cobbles and Pier. Whilst entertaining holidaymakers they have also been scrumping for ideas for new songs. Soon they will be shuffling into the studio to record their next album. Even if it is only a few songs it will certainly be more than what they started out with. Among the new material there may be a surprise or two. It is hoped a preview will be released soon. The guys have already busked about some of the performers they bumped into along the Cobbles and now whispers suggest that a few of these ditties may be developed in the studio !
Tic Ta.c Toe everywhere you go
Shuv a penny
And on with the show.
Add a bit of sparkle to the day with a sing a long. This happy little ditty should keep you humming for hours !
At 5pm there will be, an Observation Quiz in the Lobster Pot Cafe on the Cobbles. Observe, Listen then Answer. You will also be working against the clock. Pencils and pads at the ready, lets begin.
The local press has reported that 'dance exercise classes' are being held at Oh Crumbs theater. Listen to the music, follow the moves and jig your time away!
Prior to the Giggle in the Park carnival beginning we have had a giggle of our own. One of the young musicians had almost completed his song when he stepped back and stumbled over a drum. The word 'Tedah' sprung to mind, fortunately he was alright but it took several moments for the rest of us to overcome a bout of giggles. The next time I accidentally stub my toes or hit my thumb with a hammer I must remember to shout out 'Tedah!' rather than what I usually say. There's never a dull moment at Oh Crumbs.
