Fun on the Cobbles would not be complete without the resident clown. Skipper reminded his pals that the clown is better known as 'Jolly Jack.'
'Like the Jolly Jack which you sang about in the song Muckle Flugga Fair?' asked Rainbow.
'The very same clown. Where do you think I got the name Jolly Jack From?' replied Star.
'But I bet you haven't heard of Lord Flash though?' laughed Skipper.
Allowing the others time to shake their heads, he continued: ' He was a well known clown, wit, poet, jester, playwright and general prankster in the 18th century. He is supposed to have been buried in Maggoty Woods in Cheshire. He got the nickname 'Lord Flash' from one of the characters in his play 'Hurlthrumbo.'
'I wonder if the Cobbles fair is open yet,' sighed Barnacle before adding, 'that is where Jolly Jack is usually to be found.'
