Despite this The Shellies is a fantastic and entertaining novel and I recommend it to children aged 4 – 7 and a must read for lovers of quirky novels. I myself loved it and im 18, therefore i can imagine lots of parents enjoy reading it to their children as well!
I found that this book was great to read aloud as it introduced many opportunities to use a wide range of expression filled voices and tones, my niece and nephew certainlly liked it and made me read the book to them over and over in strange voices i created.
Aswell as all that, the characters allowed you to create voices and let you imagination to flow!
